BEP-TECH Above Ground Detector

This device is designed to test the operation of above-ground vehicle and pedestrian detectors used in intelligent traffic control systems, including those from AGD Systems, Microsense, and Yunex. This device displays the real-time state of a detector’s internal relays, allows you to manually activate inputs, and helps you diagnose cabling faults, ensuring a fully operational installation.

Key Features:

  • Plug & Play Compatibility - Simply connect the male 9-pin Bulgin connector to the pre-installed socket in your traffic signal installation, and you're ready to go.

  • Power Indicator - A central red LED confirms if 24V power is present in the socket.

  • Real-Time Relay Readout - A female 9-pin Bulgin connector lets you connect an above-ground detector for direct testing. LEDs indicate the real-time state of the detector’s internal relays, helping diagnose stuck or non-switching relays.

  • Relay State Simulation - Two rocker switches allow you to manually force Input 1 or 2 active or inactive (SC or OC), making it easy to test wiring back to the controller.

  • Isolated Testing for Safe & Accurate Diagnosis - When a detector is plugged into this device, the only connections back to the controller are 24V and 0V. All input cores and commons are physically disconnected to prevent interference, ensuring safe and accurate testing without affecting the controller.

  • Configurable Common Core Link - The board features a removable link between the two common cores going to the rocker switches, allowing flexibility for different wiring configurations. This link can be easily removed by opening the case.

Build Quality & Materials:

  • The case is 3D printed using durable PETG filament and secured with four M4 machine screws and nuts, ensuring a solid and robust design.

  • For ease of use, the device features two clear labels to help users distinguish between Input 1 and Input 2—both for the relay readout LEDs and the rocker switches.

Safety Warnings and Liability Disclaimer:

  • Voltage Limitations:
This device is designed to be used with a 24V power supply only. Connecting the device to a voltage higher than 24V could result in damage to the tester. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by improper voltage connections.

  • Exposure to Direct Sunlight:
To prevent potential damage to the device, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight for extended periods. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the casing to warp or degrade over time, impacting the device's performance.

  • Liability Disclaimer:
The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage, injury, or malfunction caused by improper use or handling of the tester.
